toddler's note: putting my right foot out and in your mouth

everybody has a different way of stacking bricks. i have my way, the drooling shithead beside me has his, and the cute fat piece of awesome that i really should kill just to win the title of cutest awesomest baby in the gymboree has her oh-so-frustratingly perfect way of stacking hers.

i recently started going on regular playdates. seems mama wasn’t very pleased with the antisocial crap that papa and i pulled at last week’s very public affair. seems we both stared cock at everyone else as if we were above them. seems i got his bad jeans. i don’t know, man… we all wear the same jeans, us three. Gap 1969ers. yeah, we be hipster like that.

mama has been very upset with both herself and other parents around her.  they keep shoving parental advice down her throat and she gags them out and spits them back at these same people. “feed your baby the way we do, shower her the way we do, buy the same obnoxiously expensive brands we do… otherwise you’re just not good enough.” while mama tries not to take it to heart, sometimes she feels as if their words are true: she’s just not good enough. her current upset? – i’m not as pudgy as the other babies.

although i don’t get along with most of these playdates of mine – nothing personal, i’m just reserved (for someone better ahahaha) – i’ve grown to notice one thing; though our ways of stacking blocks vary drastically (yes i’m looking at you, you fat piece of awesome with all your aggravating perfections and cuteness), nobody turns to the other to tell them the way it should be done: their way. nobody judges, nobody condescends, nobody really gives a filthy diapers about what the other is doing because everyone’s so happy just doing their own thing. and when we’re done, the parents always clap in support and approval, despite some of our wooden creations being hazardous to potential Bit residents.

and it is then that everyone gets along, parents and babies alike.

i’m starting to think the gymboree is where lost parents go to learn, and learning babies go to teach. with that said, i think my mama doesn’t need to be there; she, papa, and i live in a world of our own and in that world we do just fine, lopsided blocks and all.
